The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) is a diversified chemical company. The Company is engaged in the manufacture and sale of chemicals, plastic materials, agricultural and other specialized products and services. The Company has 150 manufacturing sites in 35 countries and produces approximately 3,300 products. Dow operates in six segments: Performance Plastics, Performance Chemicals, Agricultural Sciences, Basic Plastics, Basic Chemicals, and Hydrocarbons and Energy. The Company is also engaged in the property and casualty insurance and reinsurance business primarily through its Liana Limited subsidiaries. In January 2009, the Company announced that its thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) business was acquired by Lubrizol Corporation. In July 2008, JPS Industries Inc. announced that it had completed the sale of its Stevens Roofing and Geomembrane business unit and related assets to Dow Building Solutions (DBS), a market-facing unit of The Dow Chemical Company
